Description
War for the Overworld and Dungeons 2 are probably considered very similar most because of their back-story. Speaking of both games, the player embodies the personification of evil and builds up hellish dungeons. Nevertheless, the game mechanics of War for the Overworld and his supposed counterpart are fundamentally different, which is why it is very worth playing through both games. Concerning War for the Overworld, the possibilities of the players to develop their dungeons, to attack their opponents and to defend themselves against enemy attacks are enormous. The player jumps into the role of an Underlord, who was a very powerful master of evil a long long time ago. Thus the player is constrained to help the Underlord to build up a new reign of evil…
Chamber of Horrors
After his return, the personification of evil realizes with horror that the good has triumphed during his long absence. The pitiful remnants of the evil forces now hide out in the depths of the earth, waiting for a new leader, who might guide it to its former glory. Okay, these are the conditions, playing War for the Overworld! But for you it's no problem: you are going to meet the challenges of many hellish missions and build up great dungeons: One more horrifying than the next! The heart of each chamber of horrors forms the so-called dungeon core. If it falls down, the soul of the Underlord will crush immediately. But you will avoid that! Once you've freed up a portal, the creatures of the underworld can make contact with you. First, you construct barracks. This attracts the so-called snarlings, exercising henceforth their martial skills.Funds for the War
But even these green-skinned bullies need to rest, eat and drink, which of course applies to all the other dark creatures, too. Therefore you construct a refuge, a tavern and a slaughterhouse. The tavern provides your monsters with beer and fried pork. The mincer of your slaughterhouse works with alternative meat as well, such as for example the remains of the enemies who have dared to break in your dungeon. Finally, War for the Overworld is all about to infiltrate the enemy strongholds and to destroy their inhabitants. Concerning them, the Underlord is powerless against them. Therefore, your minions have to accomplish this bloody work. Therefore you have to supply them properly! Moreover the war cannot be won without a corresponding spell and defense technology. Therefore you build up an archive when time is ready. Then, a so-called cultist will enter your Dungeon, because he is attracted by the magical tomes. This wizard will spend his time to explore other sins for your purposes.Evil Attack, evil Defense
The cultist may not be a good fighter, but at least he weakens your enemies through dark curses. When the first traps are explored then, your dungeon urgently needs a foundry. This facility attracts the Spitter into your dungeon, who will produce the invented techniques. This evil creature fights his opponents in a unique way: He spits his corrosive stomach contents over his attackers. Your own people should avoid the Spitter for better or for worse... And thus it occurs that the first trap was finally invented and produced. The lotus blades are a nearly perfect trap that will keep your enemies out of your dungeon. While your opponent have a tough time of it, dealing with your traps, you give them the rest and perform your malicious magic. Alternatively, you give the invaders a taste of the turbo-frost potion, which your vessel-geezer has brewed in the alchemical laboratory. Or you slay them with your mighty lightning spells...
