Hints and Tricks

• During a crusade many units will desert. Hence let the units not join the crusade until you reach the corresponding city.
• Fight all short-handed fights by yourself, otherwise you will lose with guaranty. Use the terrain and the strength of the units for your advantage.
• Use always archer with flame-arrows during a siege. With some luck they will set on fire the siege units.
• Build many priests to get many cardinals and finally the pope.
• Don't build to much castles, because you will get in trouble with your money. Invest more in armor forges.
• Ride fleeing troups down to gain experience points for your units.
• During a siege, first destroy the turrets to avoid casualties.
• Milita need no mony, so don't buy needless expensive units within the cities.
• Only fight against the Mongolian long-range cavalry with strong cavalry, because your infantry will lose.
• Fight witches and heretics as soon as possible, because they will decrease the morale in the corresponding region.
• Build expensive government buildings first, because they will increase the morale and you can increase the taxes.
